30 Days Of Me (Day Sixteen – Twenty Two)…. A whole week worth of me!

My task for today, get my damn act together and catch up on the posts I haven’t done over the past week. So, days 16 to 22 aye?! What do I have in store for you? Let’s have a look:

Day 16- Another picture of yourself

This is a photo I had to take quite spontaneously one afternoon as I was an applicant for The Apprentice NZ and they required a photograph of me for my callback/video interview. It was very funny because I was wearing track pants and slippers but those were fortunately cropped out of the photo

Day 17- Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

If I could switch lives for one day I would switch with Zac Efron. Wow I said it… it’s totally lameo but I can’t lie… the guys is pretty fortunate and successful! He has successfully crossed over from Disney to mainstream acting which isn’t easy. Plus I have always wanted to be an actor and it would be awesome to see how the other half lives!!!

Day 18- Plans/dreams/goals you have

Well you could probably tell from above that one of my major dreams is to be a successful actor. This however, is only a dream and might happen one day…

My major goal is to write two more screenplays by the end of the year. I have written one screenplay and one tv pilot and it is so much fun creating these universes that I can’t wait to see where else I will ‘travel’ to in my writing!

Apart from that I plan to pay off my credit card (which is sitting VERY high due to unfortunate circumstances) and I aim to do that in the next 5-6 months…. yes it is THAT high! haha kinda keeping me back actually!

Day 19- Nicknames you have; why do you have them

My nickname I have had are:

Matt, Matty, Matts, DV – Self explanatory really… based on my name

Maggot – Because I was tiny and white…. was given to me by a teach in year 5

MJ – Because I had outgrown my school pants and they were really high LOL… so they were like MJ pants!!!

People now only really call me Matt, Matty or Matts (usually my family)

Day 20- Someone you see yourself marrying/being with in the future

Can I say Amanda Seyfried? Haha probably not I guess. Lameo. To be honest I’m not in a relationship right now, even though my family teases me about being in a relationship with my lil dogs cause they like to sleep on my lap when I watch tv haha. I am eventually going to find a girl who has the same moral code as me and has an awesome personality and can make me laugh and also laughs at my lame jokes… and loves my family!

Day 21- A picture of something that makes you happy

I have put three pictures up because there are THREE things that make me very happy (other than my family and dogs)…. and they are (from left to right): Creativity, Movies/TV and Music! I don’t think I could live in a world where none of those things exist! At the end of the day I guess movies/music rely on creativity to exist so it is creativity that makes me the happiest

Day 22- What makes you different from everyone else

Wowza! What makes me different from everyone else? I find this damn difficult to answer because everything that makes me different from someone makes me more similar to someone else! If that makes sense at all?! The things that my friends like about me are my friendly, creative, funny, loving, loyal personality and the fact that I enjoy the small things. A few days ago someone told me that I laugh at everything… seriously, I am just a happy person. So when I am sad it is pretty obvious.  Plus, I’m not embarrassed to admit it when I like something geeky… or gleeky!

30 Days of Me (Day Fourteen) – A Picture of Me and My Family

So… my family eh?! Riiiight. Well my family is pretty big and is quite spread out so we don’t often come together for photos. I was able to find one photo that had about a third of us in it so felt it was probably enough to constitute a family photo So the family members in this photo are (from left): Nicole (cousin), Sue (mum), Andre (dad), Maureen (gran), Bob (gramps), Me, Ian (uncle), Robs (brother), Tamsin (aunt).

30 Days Of Me (Day Thirteen) – A Letter To Someone Who Has Hurt You Recently…

Darfield Fault Line,

I chose you as the ‘person’ who has hurt me recently! You are such a dick! You ruined the houses and gardens of my friends and family, you turned historic icons into rubble and you shut my city down for a week! I know things haven’t always been great between us but come on… is this really appropriate retribution for me forgetting to call you? I hardly ever call the San Andreas Fault Line and she’s fine with it!

Oh and STOP SHOWING OFF! We don’t care that you have the ability to shimmy and shake… so can Beyonce and she doesn’t do it 600 TIMES A WEEK! So suck it up precious, and settle the heck down or else I’ll tell ALL my friends not to speak to you anymore.

30 Days of Me (Day Twelve) – How I found out about WordPress and why I made one…

I think I’ve already answered this question but I made this blog to review movies from the point of view of an ordinary objective consumer…. instead of using a journalistic approach and reviewing it with my own personal bias (not that all reviewers are like that…but most are). I haven’t reviewed a movie in quite some time though because I have been spending way too much time at work and all my free time is spent doing something related to film/television (mostly watching it after a hard days work… at a desk…. in front of a computer…lol). 30 Days Of Me (Day Eleven) – Another Photo Of Me With My Friends…

Okay today I thought I’d go overboard and post not just one photo of my friends… but…. wait for it…. two! Yeah I’m super crazy like that sometimes!

The first photo is my TheatreWorks drama class from 2008… we were all really chummy and most of us still hang out today (well the ones who are still in Chch)… but whenever the others are in town he have a good old catch up!

The second photo is much more recent and was taken this year on a day trip to Orana Wildlife park with a group of friends… some old… some new!

It was such an awesome day! We took picnic food and watched the animals eat and kinda felt like big kids! And then actually acted like big kids and played on the playground for a while (they have a flying fox so yeah…)!

30 Days Of Me (Day Ten) – Songs you listen to when you are Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad

I listen to LOTS of music so whittling it down to one song is tough…. BUT there are certain songs I do listen to a lot more often than others. So… my song choices are:

Happy – “Macy Gray – Relating To A Psychopath” or “Sophie Green – Lollipop”

Sad – “Janis Ian – at Seventeen” OR “Christina Aguilera – You Lost Me”…. I know these songs just make you sadder but they’re great!

Bored :s – “The Bird and The Bee – Into Something Good” or “The Propellorheads – History Repeating”

Hyped :0 – “Dj Earworm – United States of Pop” or “Yolanda Be Cool - Don’t Speak Americano”

Wow now you’re probably really going to judge me and think my music tastes are crap… but I really don’t care haha… I love what I love!

30 Days Of Me (Day Nine)- Something I’m Proud of….

Wowza something I have done over the past few days that I am proud of….I think it would have to be cleaning out our spare room in our house that we had only just moved into on the 3rd of September so that my grandparents could move into it due to the earthquake!!! I mean… it was only a days worth of work and now my grandparents are at least comfortable whilst not living at home!!!I’d love to pop a photo of them sitting in bed in the room haha but am in a rush to head off to Lyttelton to watch a play and my friend is just outside the house to fetch me Until next time…. peace out

30 Days Of Me (Day Eight) – Short Term Goals…

My goals for this month / the reason for the goal:

1) Finish writing my marketing plan for work by this Friday / so I don’t get fired (lol)

2) Write on this blog every day and not miss a single day!!! / so I don’t fail at a simple task

3) Finish developing my new screenplay / so I continue along my desired career path

4) Finish acting in my friend’s film / so I can help someone out with something

5) See my friends more often / so I can have some awesome chill times

6) Finish unpacking my house / so I can live in harmony

7) and last but not least…. live every single darn day to the fullest!!!! / becuase that’s how I roll!

30 Days Of Me (Day Seven) – A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

These get trickier and trickier every day!!! I feel that so many things have impacted me so tremendously that picking one is a tough decision!!

I know it is going to sound rather odd but the thing that has had the biggest impact on me (apart from my family) is television! I have a big passion for film and television and have been practically addicted to the thing from a very young age! I have fond memories of watching movies as a young kid right in front of the telly!

I am planning on eventually moving into film and/or television when I have gained some more work experience as I feel that it is a medium that reaches such massive audiences and has the ability to transform lives!
